Groundhog day for Murray

Rafa Nadal will contest another Wimbledon final, this time against world number one elect Novak Djokovic after an entertaining battle with British number one Andy Murray. The Scot left the famous centre court dejected but with a resigned look of a man who has only beaten his nemesis in four of the last fifteen attempts, and had lost at the same stage in the last two years.

Murray had the better of the early exchanges and confidence gained from a good tournament showed in spades as despite some stunning ground play from Nadal, Murray took the first set 7-5. The second set looked like it could follow in the same vein early on, but some sloppy serving allowed Nadal his chance and once in the groove the likable Spaniard is hard to stop. Losing 7 straight games seemed to deflate Murray and any belief in becoming Britains first champion since 1936 was waining fast, as Nadal took the next two sets 6-2.

Murray put up better resistance in the fourth set but just didn't have the answers to a man just one year his senior. Murray will have another opportunity, but you can't help but feel that whatever Murray throws at Nadal, Nadal has that something special, that extra zest that seperates the good from the great

With Nadal now set to compete for what would be his eleventh grand slam, and third at SW19  Murray is left wondering what might have been. With Federer also out there was real belief amongst the masses that this could be his year.

Nadal now faces the inform Djokovic who's winning run has propelled him to the summet of the game. A classic is surely on the cards
